The Computer of the Future

The Computer of the Future

In 20 years, what will computers look like?  (20 years is an eternity when it comes to developments in technology!) Will they be tablets? Phone-size? Flexible?  Will they even be solid or tactile (meaning you can touch/feel them) at all? Will they resemble the Google Glass that the man is wearing in the picture, or maybe, a watch?

Search the web for developing technologies as they relate to computers. Describe IN DETAIL what you think the computer of the future (well, at least 20 years from now) will look like.

When you respond to classmates, challenge them to predict what advancements will be necessary to create the computer they described - or predict what those will be yourself.

  1. The next computer. I think its going to be a little pocket projector that shows you the screen and key board. It fits in your pocket and when ever you need it its in your pocket. If you loose it, it has a tracker to find it.

    1. I think that is a very good idea because if it is small it can always be in your pocket. Like laptops, they can't fit in your pocket but this one can. I really like this idea. Good thinking Jonny.

    2. The tracker would be helpful for me because I lose things all the time.

  2. All TVs will be flexible, smart phones will be gone and replaced by "glasses". Keyboards will be IR, and screens will be transparent.

    2. flexiable tvs would be sweet

    3. Having the glasses would be cool, you could take all your phone calls right from the glasses

  3. i think computers of the future wont be much different from what we have now just a'lot faster and stronger, batteries are a big topic maybe one day we will have a macbook with the power of a super computer and an extreme battery life.

  4. I think the computer of the future will be something that you can hold and use any where. I think it will be able to do a kind of folding thing where you can put it in your pocket. Also, maybe a set of glasses to come with it so when your on a train you can set up bluetooth and watch a movie through your glasses from your computer while it's in your pocket. The computer will also have a projection mode where you can shine your screen on the wall and actually have a huge touch screen on any wall or surface.

    1. Why would they make the phone bend? Wouldn't the glass break?

      Delete
    2. so if they did bend they would make it so the phones wouldn'
t break like they do now

      Delete
    3. yeah if they don't break its good for workers

    4. There is a material made from graphite that I believe you have heard of that is flexible, transparent, thin and incredibly strong. If we are able to 'mine' this material, that could become the technologic screens of the future. (Thus bendable and unbreakable)

  5. I think computers are going to be like a phone, with a projector keyboard. Or i think they'll be something like a watch or something like that.

  6. I think computers in the future will be connected with a chip in our brains that makes it possible for the computer to know what we want to search up. Say you can't think of the name of something but you could describe it perfectly, you just hit a button on your computer that turns the chip in your mind on and then it searches it for you. Also I feel like computers will be iPhone size and have a button on the top of them that shines a keyboard onto the surface in front of your computer so you can type there.

    1. I would never want to get your computer. I would not enjoy having a chip in my head.

    2. Yeah I think so too.

    3. Thats already on kinda on Divergent but okay👍

    4. I think they won't be like that

  7. I think that the computer of the future is going to have a see through screen and has a laser that shows where the key board. They will also have a headset that can also read what you are thinking and can automatically type it for you. They computer will be touch screen. The computer isn't really a computer its more of a phone shape.

    1. I wouldn't want a transparent screen because then I wouldn't be able to see what I was doing on my phone.

    2. I don't think a see through screen would be nice but ok.

    3. That sounds cool.

  8. computers will be useless because the technology available at that time period will be so advanced that computers might be obsolete.

    2. Very good possibility

  9. I think that computers will be able to read your mind, or will be able to to sense your emotions. They could have a laser on the top that shines a keyboard for you to type. They could also be flexible and able to bend.

    1. Computers that could read our mind would be creepy.

    2. It'd be nice if they'd be able to bend because they'd be less likely to break and you could fold them up and put them in your pocket.

  10. Computers will project a keyboard, and you can they'll be so small you can carry them around with you and when you need it you just press a button and it unfolds.

    1. I dont think that computers will have any keyboards, they will be controled by voice

  11. I think in 20 years computers will be powered by our brain. You won't need to type anymore, you think of a sentence and it will type it for you. It will be a tablet and you control all of your actions by thinking.

    1. How is the computer powered by your brain? What if you are thinking two things at a time then the sentence will get mixed up. Like me If I used this computer my sentences would never come out right because I'm always thinking about more than one thing.

  12. In 20 years I think computers will just be projected onto something and you won't have to hold anything anymore in your hand.

    2. I think that we are heading that way now, everything we need on a computer can be found and done on our phones

    3. Yeah that would be nice

  14. The computers in twenty years will be different because you can drag your finger letter to letter and it will automatically go on your screen. The colors of the computers will have more of variety like, pink, aqua, purple and green. The computers will never be slow so there is a special chip inside the computer that always makes it fast and it never takes a long time to load.

    1. I think that is a great idea. The different colors would be popular.

  15. In twenty years it will be connected to everything we own like our cars bikes houses. We will have self driving cars where we just tell them where we want to go and they will drive us wherever we want to go. I think that you will also be able to ask a computer any question and it will answer it.

  16. From how rapidly technology is advancing, I believe that the Hand Phone will be actually invented. The Hand phone is a flexible, durable, mesh of silicon with a core processor unit that uses the palm of your hand as the screen. "Never lose your phone again" Trying to steal this phone would quite literally be like stealing a person's hand. And since there is no glass, there is no risk of breaking the screen. "Internal" What really makes the Hand Phone get it's name is the way you buy it. It is surgically implanted under your skin. With simple hand motions it can turn off and on, take pictures and share on social media with a high five. These options also can be turned off by making a fist. "Seems Handy Right?" Now that you've heard of this, what do you think? Would you get a New Hand Phone? and if not, Why?

  17. I think new computers will be more like a smart phone, lighter, skinnier and probably have some kind of projector.

  18. The new cumputers will be smaller, more smart then what they already are.

  19. I think these new computers would react faster and respond faster and they won't be as slow as other computers . Maybe they will let you wear them and be able to control it with your eyes or you could use your head to control it with no glasses or anything .
